Fairfield Christian Church is a non-denominational Christian church centered upon traditional conservative Christian biblical values and teachings. Perhaps the heart of our beliefs are spelled out in our motto:
In Essentials. UnityIn Opinions. Liberty
In All Things. Love
Fairfield Christian Church serves approximately 2,500 people on weekends alone. That does not include the over 100 different area churches that have members participating or attending various activities during the week. We believe the impact of the ministry God has blessed us with has an influence of 50 miles in all directions.
As a non-denominational church, Fairfield Christian Church seeks to welcome all those who confess Christ, are obedient in Christian baptism, and are committed to the Scriptures as our rule of faith and practice. Because of this, we have members with various backgrounds and tastes. We could choose to focus on things where we differ or place a different emphasis, however we realize that we can love each other. We do not compromise on Christ, but on many other issues that are not clear, we must. Some of our members are more traditional, some more charismatic, some more "eternally secure", and some more "free will".
We seek to be a Spirit filled church allowing our worship, our prayer, and our service to be infused with the spirit of God, not relying on flesh or merely human intellect. We believe that as pastors and Elders seeking the Lord together we have "the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2,16). We believe that Christ is preparing His church for the last days through a wonderful movement of prayer and praise that is sweeping the church at large.
We at Fairfield Christian Church, embrace people from many doctrinal and denominational backgrounds whether Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, or Pentecostal; we have found a wonderful unity in diversity and just being Christians. A variety of backgrounds is reflected in our worship music, which is a blend of traditional and contemporary, from country to soul, from Maranatha to Hosanna!
We are a large church made of smaller "congregations" called Adult Bible Fellowships (or ABF's). Care teams within those classes help to keep the larger church more personal. We remember that the "First Church of Jerusalem" was a church of thousands that reached tens of thousands.
Finally, we are an intergenerational church with programs for the Senior Saints to Generation X'ers, and Boomers and Busters in between. We believe that teens and children are part of the church today and deserve our full support and the best possible programming. We welcome singles and divorcees who seek to dedicate their lives to the Lord. We try to minister to various groups like these through Rebuilders Divorce Recovery and single adult classes like "Alive in Christ".
There is a variety from service to service. Sunday morning features blended worship with a mix of hymns and contemporary choruses. Sunday evenings are lead by our Praise Band and are more contemporary and diversified. Sometimes there are concerts of prayer, praise gatherings, or small groups along with preaching of the Word and the Lord's Supper. Mid week classes feature a variety of classes for all ages and run from September through May.
