Missions at Fairfield Christian Church

Missions at Fairfield Christian Church shall be defined as any ministry aimed outside the Continental United States or an approved ministry within the Continental United States, the purpose of which is to fulfill the great commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, church planting, church development, and training/equipping in Christian leadership. We recognize the importance of meeting physical needs while carrying on any of these ministries, in accordance with Christ's great commandment.

Purpose
  • To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matt. 28:19-20)
  • To share Christ's heart for the world (Matt. 9:36-38;18:10-14)
  • To see men saved and brought to the knowledge of God (John 3:16; Romans 10:13-15)
  • To build up the body of Christ through discipleship (Eph.4:12-16)
  • To minister to the totality of human need commensurate with the overall task of world evangelization (Matt.22;37-39; 25:31-46)
Priority
  • To Take the Gospel where it has never been presented
  • To establish spiritual beachheads in key/critical areas of the world establishing churches wherever possible
  • To network with key leaders/organizations by supporting and cooperating shared goals
  • To disciple believers by providing resources of:
    • Funds
    • Missionaries and leaders to come along side believers
    • Short term assistance
    • Prayer support
  • To support local evangelism efforts in our own county and state
  • To support evangelism/missions throughout America
  • To engage the local congregation in support of the Great Commission
Funding

Endorsing a 10% minimum contribution from the general budget to missions while encouraging increasing percentages as the church leadership would recommend.

The Great Commission Team that manages the Missions’ Ministry believes until EVERY KNEE bows and EVERY TONGUE confesses Christ that our task is incomplete. Therefore a commitment is made to touch every continent of the world with the Gospel.

In this section the viewer will see a strategic plan to establish a viable beach head for Christ in every region of the world. In some cases the effort has a strong history and has had opportunity to expand. In other cases the work is just beginning.

At present the percentage of foreign and domestic investment are as follows:

  • Domestic = 50.8%
  • Foreign = 49.2%

Our goal is to reach for the following percentages in the future:

  • Domestic = 40%
  • Foreign = 60%

Matthew 25 Tree

35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me.

Mercy Ministries will display the Matthew 25 tree in the foyer beginning Sunday, December 1st through Monday, December 15th. As in years past, the tree will be decorated with tags representing children of families in need this Christmas season. Each tag provides a child’s gender, age, clothing size and his or her hobbies/interests. Purchased items must be wrapped and turned in no later than Monday, December 15th. Please remember to include the child’s tag with the item(s). Volunteers are also needed Sunday, December 21st to help with distributing presents to families. For more information, please contact Stacie Blankenship or call (740) 654-0099.
