I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3

Sunday Morning: Book of Daniel
Leader: Debbie Baker
Time: 10:30 am
Location: Room 509
September 9, 2008

What Revelation is to the New Testament, Daniel is to the Old Testament—a fascinating study of God’s sovereign control over rulers and nations. Through this study we will learn to depend entirely on the God who rules rulers, governs governors, and even reigns over kings. Daniel’s worldview had God at the center and he chose to live out his life according to God’s standards and not mans. We, too, must learn to live according to God’s standards despite the extreme pressures of this world to live by the world’s standards. Join us as we read, study, pray and share and seek God’s direction for such a time as this.

Wednesday Morning: The Virtuous Women: Shattering the Superwoman Myth
Leader: Susan Luby
Time: 9:30 am
Location: Meets in the Fellowship Hall downstairs
September 17, 2008

Does the woman in Proverbs 31 make you feel like a sluggard? For years Christian women have struggled to understand what the Proverbs 31 woman was all about. Instead of encouragement or instruction, for most, this passage offered “more guilt than eating a one-pound bag of M&Ms.” Is this the ideal woman? Or is the Proverbs 31 woman an outdated fixture of the past?

Vicky Courtney believes that this passage is not in the Bible by accident and that a virtuous woman is a rare find in today’s world. Join Vicki as she sojourns with you to unravel the mystery behind the Proverbs 31 woman. Come join us for this 6 week study!

Opening the Windows of Blessings (Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi)
Leader: Sharon Vernon
Time: 9:30 am
Location: Meets in Room 402 Childcare available
September 10, 2008

The prophets were God’s messengers, sharing words of instruction and discipline but also of encouragement and hope. Such messages from Zechariah, Malachi, and Haggai provide an insightful study of God’s communication, character, and blessings. God’s word shared through the prophets was used to motivate the rebuilding of the Temple of Jerusalem and to breathe hope into uncertain times. Join this study to discover the joy of anticipation as you uncover some promises yet to be fulfilled as you study the promises that have already come to pass and see God’s faithful character revealed.

“Marriage is honorable among all men.” Marriage is meant to be the highest and happiest relationship on this earth. The coordinator assigned to each bridal couple prays for, gives general guidance, and helps to coordinate the wedding ceremony, rehearsal, and/or reception. The coordinator meets with the bride twice before the wedding to gather information about her wishes for her special day. The coordinator can plan on spending from around four hours on the rehearsal day and from four to eight hours on the wedding day overseeing the details for this very special occasion. Some coordinators may be requested to do much of the decorating and clean-up for the couple. This is all determined in the early scheduling sessions.

The blessings are so wonderful that all the work is worth it! What a wonderful way to help a couple start their lives together.

If you are gifted with creative abilities and the desire to serve, please call our ministry leader, Diana Burton or Debbie Baker, Director 740.654.3866 ext. 235.
